Abstract

In this study, word stress characteristics in the English and Uzbek languages were examined using comparison and contrast techniques. Word stress peculiarities in both languages were noted and explained with instances. Due to the nonrelative nature of the languages under study, many inconsistencies as well as some similarities in terms of word stress were found.
